Welcome to the Interaction section of JeremySumpter.com. This is a page where Jeremy will post updates on a regular basis about about himself, his career and the charity projects he is involved in to all of his fans.

Pictured to the right is Jeremy and his twin sister Jessy having some fun posing for the camera together earlier this month. Jeremy's film "Death and Cremation" will be premiering in Los Angeles this week. Jeremy also has two films ("You're So Cupid" - 9/7, "Calvin Marshall" - 9/21) coming out soon on dvd.

This month, the JeremySumpter.com Charity Spotlight shines on the To Write Love On Her Arms charity. Although it is not one of Jeremy's primary charities, it is a fantastic charity that Jeremy has supported recently by attending an event to raise awareness for their important cause. To Write Love On Her Arms is an organization that is devoted to helping people who are struggling with depression, addiction, and thoughts of suicide. They work to encourage, inspire, inform, and help people find the treatment and recovery they need. So many young people are blinded so much by a hopeless outlook, that they cannot see the good that they can offer to the world. Jeremy is a great example of a young person that is seeing the positive and is making a positive impact with his tremendous support of great charities like One Village / One World and the Ready Or Not Foundation. We can all help more people see the positive in their lives and the positive impact they can potentially have, like Jeremy has, by supporting this important and great cause. Click on the To Write Love On Her Arms"name to visit their website and to learn more.

Hi Everyone:

Not long ago, I made a visit to Ed Hardy (www.edhardyshop.com) and got some great clothes. I'll post some pictures on the website. As you can see, it was a lot of fun.

There will be a premiere of "Death and Cremation" Los Angeles next week. So I'll write more then.

Hi Everyone:

I am back in Los Angeles after my grandmother's funeral. This has been a very sad time for me and my family. I would like to thank everyone for their condolences.

They are putting the final touches on "Death and Cremation" and may do a premiere later this month. It was really great working with Brad Dourif on this film and I look forward to seeing him at the premiere.

"You're So Cupid" is being released on DVD on September 7. I think you're really going to like this project. It was a lot of fun to shoot. On Twitter, please follow:

There is also a great "You're So Cupid" fan page on Facebook you should check out:

There will be a contest soon on my official site (jeremysumpter.com) where you can win an autographed copy of the DVD.

I am attached to a couple of other films that do not have a start date yet.

One is called the "Sons of Summer" which is based on a true story and "tells the story of family, baseball and the American dream's glory and demise in the last gasp of small town America."

The next film I'm attached to will probably shoot next spring. It is a science-fiction project called "Drones, Clones and Pheromones". More on that when it is available.

Finally there is a spiritual film that I am interested in shooting and is probably one of the most intriguing scripts I have ever read. That film could shoot as early as August. I should know more on that in a couple of weeks.

I hope you are having a great summer.

Interaction update 04/17/10
Hello,

I've been busy reading scripts and looking at projects. There are several films that I am considering in various stages of development. One is a science-fiction project that would also include my friends Matthew Fahey and Tabitha Morella.

The next is a teen drama. I'll give you more details when they are available.

The third is "The Boys of Summer", a film that I am attached to that would shoot in Michigan. Since the information on that one is now on the Internet, I can tell you a little bit about the storyline:

"Former county league baseball star turned Marine, James Dalton lies in a blast hole with his brother Jacob in Vietnam, staring death right in the face. There he makes a promise to God to be a good father and always keep his family together, if only he lives. The effects of that promise are shown in the years ahead. Years later, alive and well, veteran James moves his family to the mining town of Rupland where baseball is that of a religion. His three sons: Michael, Matthew and Mark, become intertwined with the game and the town's growing problems that tear the family apart. The father of a true ball player, a rebel and a storyteller, James battles to keep his boys together through Rupland's hardships of alcohol and drug abuse, death, decline and war. From Little League to the town's famous "Summer League", the Dalton boys grow to follow different paths in life that change the course of their family forever. The Boys of Summer tells the story of family, baseball and the American dream's glory and demise in the last gasp of small town America." - Summary written by Michael Dault

It's a strong script and a true story and I look forward to shooting it.

I also appeared at the "Inspire A Little Love" charity event tonight and met a lot of great people and hopefully raised awareness and funds for this great cause.

As you probably know, I've been busy filming "Soul Surfer."  It's a very inspirational story with a great cast and crew and terrific producers and director.  I've been fortunate to be able to have my parents come to location with me in Hawaii.  Jessy and Gigi are busy with college so they couldn't make it.

During the filming of a surf scene last week, I slipped off my surf board and slammed my knee into the reef.  The leash to my surf board got caught on the coral and I was held under water for about 45 seconds.  I was able to finally get away and swim to the surface but my knee hurt so I had to have an MRI on it to see if I had torn anything.  Fortunately it was only bruised and I didn't miss any filming.  Everyone took a day off as the location was evacuated due to the potential tsunami.  We drove up into the hills and waited it out.  Now we've returned and everything is back to normal.  We were filming again today, it's good to be back in the water!  I have about another ten days of filming before I wrap. I'll have some pictures of the trip when I return to LA.

Hi Everyone:

I just returned from Austin where I filmed a scene for episode 9 of "Friday Night Lights."  I've appeared in 6 other episodes this season and may do a couple more.  If you have DirecTV, I hope you are watching on Wednesday nights.

In October, I was made a visit to Corpus Christi to help promote "The Ready Or Not Foundation."  I was lucky to meet some of the children who have benefited from the research the foundation has helped fund.  If you would like to make a wonderful Christmas gift to someone, please consider making a donation to the Ready Or Not Foundation on their behalf.  The web site is located at:

I am one of the producers of "Prep School" and there is a lot of activity going on at the moment.  We are finishing the casting process and hope to announce some great names for the remaining roles.  You can follow our progress at:

update062509
Hello Everyone:

It's been a long time since I've done an InterAction.  I've been busy with charity events and waiting for word on various film projects.  I played in two celebrity golf tournaments, and as I may have mentioned in the past, I love golf and try to play as often as I can.

I was honored to receive the male "Youth for Humanity Award" from the Hollywood Note Foundation.  I was also fortunate to have the founder and some of the board members from the Ready Or Not Foundation at the dinner.  This is such a wonderful organization and I hope you will consider making a donation.  100% of the money goes toward the funding of scientific research to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer.  If you could just meet some of these wonderful children, like I was fortunate to do in Houston, it would break your heart.  Please, please do whatever you can!  I hope to be making some fund-raising appearances for the Ready Or Not Foundation in Texas later this year.

I also went back to Michigan to tape the finals for Yobi.tv.  It was great to meet the finalist and give away such wonderful prizes.  A portion of the proceeds benefits One Village, One World.  I hope you will register at Yobi.tv and make sure you tell your friends about it.

I just got back from Utah where I filmed "You're So Cupid."  This was a fun film to work on and everyone was so nice.  As soon as I have more details on it's release, I'll let you know.  I also started rehearsals today for "Death and Cremation."  This is also going to be a great project and I'll have more details on that soon.

Thanks for all the questions on "Friday Night Lights."  The show is starting later than usual this year in September so we are waiting for the scripts to be written to see who will return.

031709update

Hi Everyone:

Sorry for the long delay since my last InterAction.  It's been a busy year so far.

Thanks for all the positive feedback on "Friday Night Lights."  I loved working on the show last season and hope it gets renewed for another season.  If you want to see it come back please let NBC know.

I'm starting pre-production on a horror short film that has been shooting in the desert.  Basically we are just taking some practice shots and shooting different effects.  I'll let you know more about it as we go along.

Alyssa and I have broken up but we are still good friends.  Benji went with Alyssa.

I went to the "Fast & Furious" recently at Universal Studios and had a great time.  I did the press line on the red carpet and met a lot of people.  I loved the movie.
